Standing 7 inches (18cm), Karl is an OOAK antique vintage style weighted art bear, lovingly handmade by Atelier Lavendel, using my designs and high-quality all natural materials.
Handmade in Germany. This bear is made with high quality hand painted antique style mohair fabric from traditional working German manufacture Steiff Schulte, which gives him a lovely well much loved vintage appearance. His original glass eyes are handmade in the Lauscha glass manufacture, Germany. I hand embroidered his nose and his claws with cotton embroidery floss. I used organic clean wood shavings to stuff the body and the limbs and added to his chubby belly some steel shot for more lovely weight. This bear is sympathetically aged using several techniques and hand painted with non-toxic colours. His full jointed arms, legs and head are movable and pose able. His bunny hat is made with organic cotton fabric and viscose. It is hand painted using natural plant dyes. His cowl is made of gorgeous wool/silk yarn and can be put off. I intended this bear as a little treasure to display or as a special heirloom toy to an older child for gentle play.
