…like that day they first met: Mary-Lou and our old good Reggy.
Telling stories, singing songs and chatting together. Like we friends do. ; )

Enjoy the light!
Meet Lore! He is is an OOAK Bunny, waiting for Easter gifts and new friends.
Standing 8 inches (20cm) from the top oh his ears to his toes, Lore is lovingly handmade by Atelier Lavendel, using my patterns and high-quality natural materials. This bunny is made with high quality woven fabric from the traditional working German manufacture Steiff Schulte and organic cotton fabric by Westfallen Stoffe. His glass eyes are handmade in the Lauscha glass manuafacture. I hand embroidered his nose with cotton embroidery floss. I used organic clean sheep wool to stuff his body and limbs to give him a special cuddly feel. His airy scarf is made with pure silk and can be put off.
This bunny is gentle hand painted using non-toxic pastel colours and bees wax crayon.
His jointed arms, legs and head are movable and pose able.
I intended this bunny as a little treasure to display or as a special heirloom toy to an older child for gentle play. Lore is now available here.
Feeling nostalgic one windy day, I started trying to restore my old teddy bear. He has fallen in his last uneven fight against our very young and careless puppy-dog, for many, many years. We gave my little hero to a lady who knew how to bring him to life again. She did a great work, but unfortunately much of his personality was gone.
Still, I wanted my bear back…
So it come, that I landed up here with this little being in my hands, which just came to life in my studio. My new old hero.
I drew his pattern with my old little bear in mind. I have made him completely by hand with antique German mohair and stuffed him very firmly with dried wood shawings. I gave him a mohair knitted hat and a cozy cowl to hold his neck warm. I called him Mikky.
He feels and looks different, of course. But still, I love his personality, his vintage look and memories he is bearing in his heart.
Hope, you like him as much as I do!
I want you to meet Kerstin and Benjamin, both good friends and joyful playmates. Kerstin is an OOAK doll, standing 16 inches, handmade by Atelier Lavendel with lots of love and attention to details. Benjamin is a tiny woodland baby, which loves to play with Kerstin above all.
The last day they have heard, the first spring flowers were already there, so they went looking…
Kerstin wears an organic cotton fabric dress with cotton lace and rick-rack edge, pants of organic cotton jersey and undies, a grey and pink polka dotted cotton underskirt beneath, a cowl crochet with lace weight mohair, light as a feather and wonderful soft. Her shoes are crochet with plant dyed pure wool. Benjamin´s clothing is made with cotton velour, he can happily put off his green cowl, made with amazing Donegal tweed. A tiny silver bell is safely fastened on its top. His tiny airy blanket is amazingly light. It is made with lace weight moss green mohair wool on a silk thread. His cosy carry bag, where he is often sitting is crochet of gorgeous wool/mohair/silk blend. The texture of this pouch carry is so rich and tasty,
I tried not to add to much, I left it free of every influence,
just pure joy for the fingers to touch and for the eyes to look at.
Kerstin herself has a cosy bag of her very own. It is made with cotton fabric and cotton velour and can be used as a storage bag for both friends during the quiet times, or just for gift-giving. Kerstin has blue eyes, which are carefully hand embroidered. Her hair is made with mohair, crocheted into a cap. Her braids are fastened on both sides of her head, they can be restyled and gently combed. This doll has a neck, ears, a belly button and a sweet bum. She can sit nicely.
Her head is soft sculptured of carded clean organic sheep wool. Through the safe inner armature in her neck the head is slightly movable, gentle but most expressive gestures and expressions are possible.
The body is firmly stuffed with 100% organic pure wool; the “skin” is of high-quality 100% cotton interlock from traditional Swiss manufacture. All seams are double-sewn for more durability. My dolls are sturdy and have free movable arms and legs. All Kerstin´s clothes are removable and washable.
Kerstin and Benjamin are now available here and here.
Tiny gnomes, the whole bunch of them has been playing between the oak trees lately.
Promptly they greeted: Would you join us?… But of course we would! : )
I want you to meet Mary-Lou!
A little darling sitting here in the palm of my hand, just coming to life! Magical moments, they are..
I created a new pattern for this little dolly, a very clear and easy to follow one, for a very special purpose. She will not be for sale so far, instead, she will kindly keep me company through my doll making classes during the European Doll Making Seminar. I´ll be happy to see all of you who would love to meet my Mary-Lou and take home a very own self-made sister or brother of her. Join us during the Waldorf doll making classes on the April, the 31st to May the 1st in Holland. More information about it can be found here.
Mary-Lou is a Classic Waldorf Style doll by Atelier Lavendel, standing 20cm/9inches. I used soft doll making cotton jersey for her face and her limbs and stuffed them medium-strong. For her body I chose the stronger doll making cotton interlock and stuffed it quite firmly to give her more substance. This sweetie has a little belly, while her arms and her legs are still free movable. Mary-Lou can sit nicely. She loves to laugh and to tell stories and to dream. I am already so much in love with her!
My Mary-Lou still has no clothes. I have to drawn some new patterns for her. What shall it be? Shall it be a summer dress with bloomers? Or a wide skirt and some stripped leggings? Or.… What do you think?..
